Founded in 1984 in the heart of the Portuguese community in Laval, Quebec, the Grupo Folclórico e Etnográfico Estrelas do Atlântico is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage, music, and folklore of the Azores archipelago. Through vibrant performances, the group shares the cultural traditions of Portugal with the local community and beyond. The Portuguese presence in Quebec and across Canada began with the first wave of immigration in 1954, and today, the group helps connect generations, from first-wave immigrants to third and fourth-generation Portuguese-Canadians.
